We’re going to keep this article short but fun because I bet you and your students are really excited for the upcoming Christmas Break. The countdown for it is on in my class. What about yours?
Christmas is an extra special time for our little ones because not only do they get to spend time with loved ones, but they get a visit from Santa.
At this point, most students are ready for school to be out so trying to teach the curriculum is not going to work. Instead, this is a good time to review learned concepts with your students.
The following activity will help you with that while engaging your students for weeks to come.
Actionable Steps:
#1. Let’s Take a Trip
Have your students go on a fun trip to the North Pole where they’ll meet Santa and his elves. They’ll help Santa promote the North Pole and get organized for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Your students can enjoy this trip with the following resource:
This trip will engage children in the following:
- Academic: reading, writing, and art.
- Real Life: planning, developing, and presenting.
The following resource will allow you to slow down and deal with constant interruptions that take place at this time of the year, while engaging your students in the Christmas festivities.
The presentations can take place during the last few days of school as your kids will probably not want to focus on school work but will enjoy seeing what others have worked on.
Recap:
Let’s recap really quickly. Today, we looked at the following:
