Productive Mood Boosters - Colourful Teaching For You

Five Gestures to Boost Productivity and List Your Mood

Educators, parents and entrepreneurs understand the value of connecting with others. It is essential to every aspect of our lives. Whether we want to connect with our children, other teachers, or grow our businesses, we need to be cognizant of its importance developing meaningful and long-lasting relationships.

The following five strategies will not only help in lifting your mood but will also aid in productivity.

Compliment Someone
We are always so busy that we often tend to overlook the small things that people do. Noticing and appreciating them elevates the mood of the other person, which in turn helps us feel good about ourselves.
Work Together
Working on a project together deepens our connection with others, allowing that time to be more meaningful. It also gets the job done faster while you make lasting memories.
Show people that you genuinely care about them and what they have to say. We tend to be so busy with our own lives that we forget to be fully present in the moment. There are three things that can be done mitigate the situation: make eye contact, say thank you and mean it, ask questions about the other person, and actually listening to what they have to say. Even if we do everything right but we lack authenticity and integrity, everything falls apart. As far as I am concerned, this is the most important way of creating long-lasting relationships.
I know that you have probably heard this several times before but it bears mentioning again because it does not happen often enough. It is rare to see someone smile unless the other person goes out of their way to help them. Part of being genuine is to smile and show people that they matter. This brightens up the other person’s day while lifting your own mood.
Working and taking care of our families is wonderful but we cannot forget to take care of ourselves or we will burn out. Read inspirational messages like the ones I post on twitter, go out with friends, take your children to the park and converse with other parents or educators, and indulge in a hobby.

Please let me know if you have tried any of them or if you are trying something different. I would love to know the outcome in the comments below.
